Tutoring & Study Pods
The shift to distance learning during the COVID 19 pandemic, and the decision by many schools to adopt a hybrid learning approach, have exposed some unavoidable shortcomings in a global educational system which is not designed to be asynchronous - and is therefore not always suitable for everyone.
Organizational, motivational and cognitive issues were sometimes overwhelming and left many students feeling unsupported, unable to keep up with the curriculum, and at risk of "falling between the cracks”. Distance learning is undoubtedly part of the future of education, but there are ways of making it more manageable for all students, with the support of a tutor or with formats such as "study pods".
I have an extensive knowledge of the French international Lycée system and ESL (English as a Second Language) curricula from 6e all the way to Terminale. I have been on the jury for the DNB and a Baccalaureate examiner for several years, and have prepared many cohorts for their final Bac examinations (in ESL LV1, as well as Section Européenne DNL History and Geography).
Being fluent in English as well as in French, I am able to explain English grammar, vocabulary and curricular themes to francophone students who may need more in depth explanations, as well as more practice to improve their level of fluency. I can also do the same for anglophone students studying French.
One-on-one Tutoring
Reinforcing, complementing and supplementing the school curriculum, through structured individualized support.
Homework assistance — lesson revisions and in depth explanations / catching up with curriculum expectations / grammar / vocabulary / pronunciation / developing speaking and writing skills / reading and listening comprehension / exam preparation (DNB and Baccalaureate)
Study Pods
Study pods or Leaning pods (2 to 4 students) are a relatively new phenomenon which has become more popular as many students and their families find remote learning isolating and inadequate for their needs. Study pods consist of small groups of students learning together under the tutelage of a teacher. The aim is to reinforce and meet the school’s curriculum requirements, while also encouraging students to engage and interact with their peers in the virtual pod.
Homework assistance — lesson revisions and in depth explanations / catching up with curriculum expectations / grammar / vocabulary / pronunciation / developing speaking and writing skills / reading and listening comprehension / exam preparation (DNB and Baccalaureate)
I will draw up a tailor-made plan for each student, or small group of students, according to their specific requirements. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your needs and we will set up an interview for an assessment.
A few words from my students…
“I had Miss Mouldi as a high school Euro and IELTS teacher. She had an amazing teaching technique which made everything easier to understand. She had a unique relationship with every single student of hers. She was always there for us and would only want what's best for us. Miss Mouldi will never disappoint you!”
